Work From Home Life
I've been working from home for nearly 2 years now. Here are my tips for anyone that is new to it or struggling.
How do you make it work?
Set your schedule.
9 to 5 usually works for me, and unless something is due the next day I'm leaving my home office no later than 6.
Take walks.
It can be easy to stay sitting all day, which will wreak havoc on your health. Take at least one 15-minute walk break outside to get some fresh air and ideally sunshine.
Designate an office space.
Keep your work materials in one consistent location so you can get into work mode and stay organized.
Minimize distractions.
When I'm particularly under the gun I leave my phone in another room.
Take advantage.
When you are remote, you can workout on your lunch break, shower late, watch TV, work early and leave early, and get your doctor's appointments in. Don't feel guilty about handling "personal" items during the day - this is a marathon, not a sprint.
In good health,
