👇NETWORKING MUST: STAY LASER FOCUSED
🎯Target one type of person to network with at a time.
😣For many years, I struggled with networking.
⚖️I thought networking with lawyers generally would be good enough.
🤔However, my networking wasn’t focused enough.
🤷♀️My networking contacts weren’t referring me any work, and I was getting nowhere.
😣I felt embarrassed most of the time when I was attempting to network.
🐢I would ask random lawyers to lunch and then get frustrated when the lunches were awkward.
🙋🏻♀️I learned the hard way that my male colleagues weren’t sending me any work.
☎️One even gave me his wife’s phone number so we could talk about our kids.
🤨One of my male colleagues thought I was getting hit on by another male lawyer when we met up for a business lunch, just because I was a young female meeting up with an older male lawyer.
🤷♀️These lawyers weren't taking me seriously.
🌤️But I had a breakthrough once an older female lawyer referred work to me.
🎯Now, I stay laser focused on networking with female lawyers, and was able to build my book of business this way.
👏Keep your networking efforts laser focused.
