👇NETWORKING MUST: DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE THE SESSION
👩💻Once you have a networking session scheduled, do your research on your networking partner before the session.
💻Check out their LinkedIn profile, their company website, and anything else you can find online about them.
🗺️The goal is to see what they are up to now, where they are living, and if you have anything in common so you can have context for the session.
📢You can’t find everything out about someone online, but you can see the public image and brand they’ve placed online.
⚖️Recently, I was networking with another lawyer.
🏫I did my research before the session, and noticed that the lawyer graduated from the same college as my family member, right around the same time.
👨👩👧👦After chatting for a bit, I brought this up with the lawyer, to see if they knew my family member.
🫲They actually did – and I was able to connect my family member with the lawyer so they could reconnect.
🌏This is a small world.
🕸️Networking creates webs that connect us with one another.
