The Great Female Divide

THE GREAT FEMALE “DIVIDE”

As a female business owner and lawyer, I keep hearing things over and over like…

Women earn less than men.

Don’t express weakness in the workplace.

Keep your head down and keep pushing through.

Focus on output, not how you feel.

------

I’m here to tell you that all of this has been B.S. for me.

The more I started expressing myself – by not shrinking, by being honest, by asking the “dumb” questions, by documenting my real journey – I started showing my colleagues who I really was.

Not a manufactured shadow of myself.

The real, true, me – imperfections and all.

And once I let the real me show, I attracted clients, colleagues, and readers that want to hear more from me.

And it’s easy to give that to them.

Because it’s just me.

And the more I started taking care of myself, the better my businesses became.

Don’t let statistics or stereotypes control you.

Don't let them control how you view yourself.

You have more power than you think.

You are more than a stereotype, your protected classes, or your differences.

If you can get up each day with the intention of helping at least one other person, you are doing it.

Please join me in smashing stereotypes.
