Someone Is Always Looking Up to You
Wherever you are now, SOMEONE is looking up to you.
They want your life.
They think if only they had your…
-Job
-Family
-Money
-House
-Car
-Marriage
-(Fill in the blank)…
They would have it made.
And wherever you are now, YOU are looking up to someone else, and wanting something they have.
We all do this as animals.
From humans, all the way down to birds building their nests with rocks. Just like the birds are eyeing rocks in other nests, we are eyeing the next shiny object in our career.
Knowing this, I will step off the hedonic treadmill, and take these steps today:
-Tell that person I’m looking up to that I admire them, and why.
I bet it will make their day.
I’ll start.
I admire Jay Harrington’s writing, his vulnerability, and willingness to share his non-traditional legal journey here on LinkedIn.
I admire Randi Rosenblatt’s tenacity, and keen ability to get her hands dirty when it comes to uncovering new revenue streams to build lawyers’ books of business and get in the practical details of how lawyers can make more money.
What do Randi and Jay have in common? They are both in my upcoming book, Build Your Empire. Jay has generously written the foreword, and Randi is featured as an inspiring female legal entrepreneur. Thank you Randi and Jay.
Who do you look up to in the legal industry, and why? Tell me in the comments.
