Seeking Mental Health Help Does Not Mean You Are Crazy
Getting mental health support does NOT mean you are crazy.
It means you are smart.
There used to be a stigma around seeing psychiatrists, counselors, and therapists because it was perceived as an admission or evidence that you were crazy. Broken somehow.
I say “used to” because that mentality is dying.
It is a judgmental view toward health whereby mental health is segmented out and treated entirely differently from the rest of the body.
The more you heal and train your mind, whether through therapy, psychiatry, medication, or things like meditation, the more healing and peace you will have in your life.
For us attorneys, we are attorneys and counsellors at law.
Healing yourself means healing for your colleagues. Healing for your clients. Healing for your families. If you heal and work on yourself, it benefits those around you.
It can even benefit the world.
Seeking mental health support is your obligation. If you find the right provider, the right solution for you, it is a game changer. Please take care of yourself.
