Lawyering is for the People
Knowing how to help normal people is something that the legal industry has consistently missed the mark on. There is a huge disconnect between elites and the rest of the population.
People don't really trust lawyers. Trust and respect HAVE to be earned.
When you are lawyering, you are working for all types of people. Many of the executives + CEOs I assist with HR law matters built their companies from the ground up. Or they started at the bottom of the chain and worked their way to the top.
Never forget that lawyering is helping ordinary people solve their problems. They are coming to you because you are their last stop. They are often desperate. They can't figure it out themselves.
If you stay focused on helping regular people in your legal career, you will always have fulfilling work to do.
Do you have a memorable time as a lawyer where you helped someone in need? Or maybe you were helped by a lawyer in your time of need? Tell me in the comments below.
