4 Ways to Smash Gender Norms as a Female Professional

  1. Get someone to clean your house. Regularly.

    Be very unapologetic and express zero guilt over it. If you really want to make people judge you, outsource laundry. Entirely. Poof – problem solved.

  2. Send your kid to daycare. Even better, get an au pair or a nanny.

    Don’t argue with people when they say you are “leaving your kid with strangers.” Just smile, and move on.

  3. Don’t apologize when you are not wearing your routine amount of makeup, your nails are chipped, or your hair isn’t done.

    Act as if all is normal. Especially 3 months into quarantine when your roots have created their own new country on your hairline. Bonus points: don’t color your gray hair.

  4. When people are complaining about gaining weight, say you are very happy with your body.

    Give yourself a hug. Ok, maybe mix the self hug. But expressing satisfaction with your current body is 💯💯💯
