Resuscitate Your Boring “About” Section in 3 Steps

Most “about” sections on LinkedIn are snooze-fests.

Mindfully edit your about section - I promise you it will increase your engagement on the platform. Your goal: get people to engage with you! Say meaningful things that encourage connection.

Your goal: get people to engage with you!

Here’s the blueprint to get started:

  1. Make it Interesting.

Your about section weaves your career story. I choose to walk my connections through my mental health journey.

Wake your followers up and start the conversation. This is your funnel to DM’s.

  2. Tease Out Your Differentiator.

If you are providing services – what sets you apart? Why are you a special snowflake? ❄❄❄

If you don’t know now, that’s okay. It takes time to refine this. But it’s critical for business owners to identify what sets you apart.

For me, my differentiator is that I do employment on both sides – management and employee. It helps me see each #hrcompliance issue inside and out.

    Another differentiator? I don't talk like a lawyer. #plainenglish

For my #lawpracticequeen coaching practice, my differentiator is that I walk the walk. I help attorneys build their practice while building mine. The attorneys that hire me for coaching get all my gems that have taken me 16 years to mine.

  3. Make it YOU.

Tell your followers who you are – not just the professional version. Add a splash (or in my case, a tidal wave) of personal. People do business with people – not companies. Show us you!

How do you liven up your about section?
